Well a few of the WTCC action from Brands Hatch. Again taken with the 30d using the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 300mm f4, or 400mm f5.6 exif's are attached, but everything was manually exposed.

All of them good racing pictures, focus, colour, great.
The sunshine makes all the difference.

The apex shots at Paddock are lovely. What lens are you using for those? I'm guessing a 500mm or a converter to get those apex shots?

#6 works for me the most. But they are all great.

WB on the last 2?

If so yes, i altered them to get that effect, to try and make the cars seem more menacing, hence the comment above them saying a tad different. Personal not sure if it works or not.

As for the lens question at Paddock hill, a 500mm would be very nice, but my bank manager doesnt agree with me unforetuntly lol. Its the 300mm f4 plus 1.4 TC with a minor crop. The 2xtc was to long, i try not to crop much at all, i try to get all the effects i want in camera hence manual exposures, but the paddock shots have cropped a tad more then i would normally would entertain.

I remember seeing you walk around with that 300 f4. Nice lens that one.
And some more great photos posted. Very sharp.

Back in NZ, a friend of mine got the 300 f4, and stacked to the 1.4tc, we had a contest for the sharpest photo against my 120-300. To be honest, his photos were around 3 times clearer! (really makes me want to buy one, considering they're much cheaper than the 300 2.8 IS)

Now you say about NZ, i am pretty sure i now who you are now.

The 300mm f4 is stunning even with the 2xtc, but you need to manually focus on the 30d. Id love the 2.8 version mainly for the bikes stacked with the 2xtc. The issue thou would be weight the f4 is very handheld'ble.

The 400mm f5.6 is still much better though, the tc's are only used when the 400mm is too short.

But not fair really comparing a zoom to a prime tho, i think 99% of primes will be better then a zoom at the equivelent focal length.

Made a wee error in the processing in these, i used lightroom which i ha ve only used a couple of times, didnt relise it saved them in Adobe RGB so the reds are a tad out.
