Ello Ello

Brands again this weekend for the WTCC + Support.

A bit of planning went into this one, a few PMs flew back and forth between Wazza and I but it all went wrong when my net connection failed and I couldn't reply!

However the Union Jack lens hood did it's thing and attracted worshippers from far and wide. "Who's got the 120-300 then?" Asks Wazza as we bump into eachother at Sheene Curve. We knew who eachother were, it was a joyous moment. Also managed to meet Allen Mead who was promptly told to Jog On shortly after bragging about tea and biscuits in the ChevyHospTent™.

Anyway, here are some shots from Saturday. These are all I've done for now, I've got quite a few shots to get through from both days.

Might as well start with a slow-ish pan out of Sheene Curve, Nicola Larini goes Rallycrossing

Cheng Lim's RAM SC Cobra into Druids - my dad made loads of bits for the suspension on this car, and heroically lightened the flywheel by 40lbs!

Alex Zanardi at Druids - words cannot express the admiration I have for this man.

Jimmy Tee in his Alfa through Westfield, everything and everyone was really fast through here.

Might as well end with a pan out of the Druids hairpin - a 4.5 litre V8 powered Escort MK1. If you're gonna pan you may as well do it at 1/20s...

All very nicely done, #1 looks like it was superimposed onto the grass though. Can't quite put my finger on what it is about that one.

Through the fence at the top of druids always works well , but its good to see photos from sterlings , its such a photogenic corner and don't see cars on the long circuit much.

good to "meet" you even if it was through the fence , next time ill come say hi , just was a bit short for breaks Sunday..

Tops shots there Mr G, Tea and Biscuits are always good, especially when they're free

The 1/20 pan is just rude!

Am glad I was shooting in RAW on sat otherwie I wouldn't of been able to rescue my grid girl pics after the school boy error. They've come out ok, just slightly grainy.

No worries, the comedy was there to be had;

"Are you going that way?"

"Yep" *drives off as Jon tries to get in*

"Jump in, sorry about the smell, it's a farmer's car!"

Yeah my dad has known Cheng for ages now. The car has been a work in progress for many years. First time I met Cheng was funnily enough on the A20 into Brands. One of the wheels came off his trailer so his wife drove the van to the circuit and he drove the Cobra in. Went back to the lay-by after qualifying and repaired the trailer so it could be towed home - but he didn't risk putting the Cob on it. Drove back on the M25!

He was later interviewed (finished 2nd to a Lola T70) and Brian Jones was like "SO...CHENG...HOW LOONG HAAVE YOUU BEEEN IN EENGLANDD?"

"Nah mate, I'm from Dagenham"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh...you forgot to get that ticket off me too :p

I know, I went back to Druids and your car had gone - so Warren gave me his spare pass for Sunday :) all's well that ends well.

Yea, persistence is everything :)

I had to hold off getting a gallery on my Saturday ones (now online). After working till 8:30pm everynight and a full Saturday unpaid, the team made our targets and get a nice bonus.. Mine's enough to buy another 120-300 ;)

Dave_G

Wazza

Can't back away, when I've already got it secured. - just means I will take an extra couple of weeks off and relax before Christmas - and get stuck in the snow up in Scotland. ;)
