Here are a few more flowers I took the other day. If anyone has any advice for improvement, please share.

I love taking shots of flowers!
The first seems out of focus - or maybe it is my eyes?
#2 is great although the pot in the lh corner is a bit off putting.

dewmuw,
Thanks for you input. In #2 I left the yellow planter in for color contrast, but I agree with you.. kinda distracting.

I think the red is overexposed.

I like flower macros... mostly because there is an amasing variety of flowers out there and also the way people chose to present them can be very interesting... that said I have to say that the first shot has ok composition however the exposure is way overblown and the focus is very poor... the second can be mostlikelly remedied by using a tripod and setting a timed realease for the shutter...that's the beautie of photographing flowers...they will not go anywhere
...as for the secon shot I think the composition is lacking..even though it looks like you have done a good job placing the subject according to the rule of thirds..but I think there is just too many flowers to look at... it might have been a much better shot if you have chosen to do a bigger close up and meybe present just two of the flowers...just my 2 cents...keep on shooting :D
here is en example of the composition I was talking about...hope you do not mind
