First attempts: I borrowed a Canon 60mm f2.8 from a friend at work. Here is my first effort of an Orb Weaver.

I also discovered the pains of good lighting with my first attempt. I made several efforts to get my flash underneath the subject. I tried using a bowl lined with tin foil to bounce the light back but was unable to get the desired results. Definitely need to invest in a off-camera hot shoe and I think the 100mm f2.8. The 60mm just doesn't provide enough distance for some shots. ;)

Macro certainly provides challenges, that's what makes it so appealing. Until you realise how much it costs... :(
Good first attempt. Looking forward to seeing some more.
