number one and two look a little OOF to me, however number 3 is very nice. maybe if the water was a little smoother it would have looked better. but great job!

You've got to be on a tripod for this type of shots at low shutter.

Everything was shot from a tripod I was going for the special effect looks in these shots.

The first two look out of focus. The third one is nice.

They look handheld, maybe the focus was off??
#3 is nice though! Great perspective!

I really like the color and composition in #1, but agree with the others that there is something off about it's overall focus or sharpness. Almost looks like a double exposure? I'd really love to see this re-shot and super sharp. I feel like the orange (really great color) in the middle would have some great texture and really pop. The overall shot is, to me, reminiscent of Mark Rothko's "Orange-Tan (http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/whitenoise/Images/AE_PA/AE/Rothko/orange_tan1954.jpg)", and really oddly like this painting (http://painting.about.com/od/abstractart/ss/abstract_rain.htm) (only upside down, which is the purpose of the article, ironically).
#2 is a cool effect - reminds me of a satelite photo of a hurricane - but again, kind of confusing to look at with no frame of reference and the off-focus/double exposure look. Definitely less interesting than the 1st.
#3, is a great shot, in composition - i really like it. I'm no master of exposure, but it seems like the execution was done well. Maybe a grad filter (or just simple photoshop) to darken the trees at the top, and match them a bit more to the waterfall? That's my only criticism... it's really a great shot. I think any smoother and the water would be less interesting. I really like it as-shot.
#4 is, to me, the least interesting of all of the photographs. 'Nuff said.
#5 has some great pops of light green (the mobile leaf being the most obvious) and the obvious interest of mobile vs. static. I'd like to see the shot re-done lower to the ground and more across the water rather than tightly down on it. Just me.
Let me know if you re-shoot #1, cause i'd hang that on a wall!!!
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
matt

I really like number 3 too, but the top of the dam and the trees take something away from the shot maybe you should have been alittle farther back. But the rest of the shot is really kool!!

You are in desperate need of a good polarizer.

well the CP would've helped, especially the picture with the rocks in it. they have a glare about them that screams CP. Also, using a CP would've let you expose for a bit longer (which is what you are obviously doing). a CP also cuts reflections from water, so you should be able to even pull into the picture what's below the water. just make sure that your CP is rotated appropriately for the scene. if not sure what angle is appropriate, try it once, then rotate it 90 degrees and try it again. you should see a decent difference.
also, since you said that you're using a tripod, you might consider locking up the mirror. some of the shots aren't quite sharp despite the tripod. are you using a shutter controller as well? if not, you might want to purchase one. it is INVALUABLE!
best of luck,
john

Thanks for the advice I do have a remote I can use if thats what you're referring to. It's one that I purchased thru the POTN store. I hadn't thought about mirror lockup I should read up on that a bit.

How's this for a modification of #3? I think that if you bring the green of the trees in a bit to match the green under the waterfall, it may tie the top and bottom portions together.
