Pekka, what do You think about this suggestion, is this perhaps something You would consider implementing?

I originally posted this as a possible part solution to the issue raised in this topic. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37549&start=30&postdays=0&postord er=asc&highlight=)

My suggestion is to add a small thumbnail in the listing of topics for the first photo posted in the topic. This way users could relatively fast see if the photo was of interest. Ideally users should give their topics titles that does this but the case is many users post titles like"See my first pictures" or even create a misleeding title to attract attention.

If You like I am willing to devote some time to try develop this for the forum and send You information as to the required changes needed to implement such a feature. Let me know what You think.

EDIT: I already started this, see finished demo here. (http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/viewforum.php?f=1)

ps please have patience if You get an error that the DNS is not working, I setup the host name a few hours ago so all dns servers might not be updated yet.

Finished :D

Pekka, let me know if You want to use this. I am currently writing the last details in the mod instructions.

But here's a few screenshots to show what this does.

First here is the changed forum admin that allows this thumbnail display to enabled on a forum basis.

Hi Tommy,

I'm not sure if I want to do thumbs that way - I'd rather read the big image and save local thumbs so that they are in sync, size is controlled and loading of the thumbs do not slow down pages (or get red X's all over). If the image was edited by the poster he (or moderator) could give "update thumb" command - or system wide rethumbnail command.

I'll investigate this later. This issue is not urgent.

Thanks for your suggestion!
