S 70 error codes

Hi there - I'm new to this forum, but I was wondering if you could direct me to any info about the S70 error codes. Mine's showing "E18" and the lens no longer comes out It would be interesting to know what this means!

(Is there a reset/reboot for this camera - I remember an EOS SLR I owned having a series of button pushes to reboot the software(?)

I've been very happy with the s70, but if it's terminal, anybody have any insight into how the s80 compares? (can still get hold of one, despite their being withdrawn some time ago)

Confession time :cry:- the S70 error may be related to droopping it in a river!

E18 is, as you might guess from what you're seeing, a "Lens Error". And sending it for a swim is quite a likely culprit in your case. So, I'd say it's replacement time. No clue on the S80 however.
