Winter sunrise, Riva MD (Annapolis area).

The water is Beard's creek.

Canon Powershot A20

I think it would be better to get rid of the power and phone wires, but I'm not up to doing it in a reasonable period of time...

O.K. - here are the results:

1st place: urcunina "Winter Sunrise" - Despite the power lines, it's still a great sunrise picture (was the horizin crooked? I could not tell and did not penalize for it)

2nd place: Gih1020 "Dew Drop Sunrise" - Great shot. I love pictures like this. I like the unique perspective, as well.

3rd place: Carolys "Streetlights in sunset" - This picture would have been fantastic with the sun a little lower behind the clouds making them glow. Nonetheless, still good enough for third place.

Godd job by all - now on to the next contest. Take it away, urcunina.

Congrats, urcunina!

Thanks for the second place, Edd. I'm honored to be chosen in the top three for my first challenge entry, especially among all the great pictures submitted.

Thanks Edd S, for awardng me 1st place. I was taken by the various interpretations that people chose to present the theme. This was a very interesting assignment.

The horizon is difficult in this picture because neither the far shore not the far tree line gives a clue. One power line almost follows the shore and accentuates that slope. I'm not steady enough with PS to eliminate the wires without spending a couple of evenings and I couldn't face that. Thanks again.

Thanks to deb for the congratulations. I was charmed by your "Dew Drop Sunrise" and It was my favorite.

And thank you, thitipong for your comment.

Well, thanks for my third place. I'm very happy. And congratulations to the winner Urcunina. It's a great shot like the drop from gjh1020.
Thanks. Caroline
