I really like #2, good skin tone and you got to love it when cap and suit colors match the lane line. Nice shooting.

Flash or no flash? I could use flash during the laps, but not on the start. Nice shots; nice and tight.

Hawk i didn't use the flash. like you say could not during the start but can afterward choose not to. was getting enough light without it. and thanks for the kind comment.

I love number 2, looking straight at you.
If you know what to do I would try to lighten/brighten the eyes in #2 as they are such a focal point.

You did a good job...next time, if you get teh chance, go to the end of the pool and get some shots of her breast stroke and fly as she is coming towards you. Get into as low a position as you can.

yep, you either cropped these too much or were too close. try some shots further away to give them more context. you can barely even tell what stroke they are swimming.

then you are too close. try moving back. swimming can be great to shoot but isn't that easy to do well.

you can try underwater--but it gets pricey to cover the gear !! anyway, not sure how the macro will do, but I have no idea what one is.

actually, we do the underwater shots on a hard wired remote--but you do have to swim down to the bottom to set the rig up. anyway, who cares, just enjoy shooting !!

nothing worse than a dead photographer on the bottom of a pool during a meet...kinda of creepy.

Yeah, but once the kids are in they will swim faster to get out sooner...LOL
