How often do you get streaks of either of the colors missing when you print?
If I don't print for a week or so, and then print at photo quality I get streaking in my HP DeskJet 932C Is this normal?
How do you fight it?

Used to happen to me all the time with my old HP printers.. since I went Canon it hasn't heppened yet..
I've let my Canon printers sit for about two months unused and no problems.

I think you will find most inkjet users here use either Canon or Epson.

I've always had it with HP and never with Canon, pure and simple. In retrospect, I don't know where my head was when I bought HP, but you can hazard a guess.

Really, the best way to minimize this is to print a test sheet at least once a week. The reason I say this is that it uses minimal ink quantities, but uses all the colors. This should avoid most of the problems you see at very minimal cost of ink. In the aggregate, it will use much less ink than letting the printer do a print head clean after it clogs.
I really haven't had a problem with my HP970 or Canon S9000, but they never seem to get a whole week "off" without being used

I once had a HP that was unplugged and on the shelf for over a year. When I pulled it down the cartridges that had been in there all that time fired right up and went to work. I have never ever had an HP dry out on me. But there are cradles and cartridge holders you can get that set the print head on a rubber foot that is supposed to keep the cartridge from drying out.
That is just a thought.
