Man I love a good artistic and somewhat abstract view on everyday life in a photo. And as far as I see so far, habakuk is amazing at doing just that.

I like it. Great Urban vision, as well pointed above. Cheers,

Nice! It is really intresting! I like the fact that it has 2 different rows of shadows and not only one.

Nicely done - you've taken what some may consider to be the mundane and ordinary everyday view of walking to work, and turning it into an artistic piece. The silhouettes of the people imply that more is going on without really being specific about their actions.

Thank you all for your comments. I am delighted no one complained about the dark wires... :) I do have a similar shot where I worked hard to remove them, but finally decided to keep the one here, as it is what was visible at that time. Sometimes it's not a good thing to interfere with reality. ;)

Roland - I don't feel the dark wires detract at all. To my view they add another layer of contrast as well as interest.
Not everything in life lines up into perfect little geometries. Check out some the photos shown in my blog and you'll know what I mean . You did well to leave them alone - keep up the creative work. - Stu

yea definately agree. It would be all vertical lines with the diagonal wires removed, which i think would have made a more dynamically boring shot.

Thanks for the statements. I'll post the second version later on for comparison. Looking forward to hear what you have to say about that version.

Very interesting Roland - I like it too, sort of a before rush hour, and after, when everybody is at the office or class with the bikes parked away. I enjoy the way the deep blue fades to black at the bottom. - Stu

I agree really think this would be cool framed with the first shot in the same frame. Have the first one on top horizontal and the second one below it. That would complete the idea imho.

Again, thanks for taking the time to chime in. Well, the idea to stack them in one frame... hmmm... need to experiment a bit. Probably I'd have to adjust the color scheme to support the rush/no rush theme...

Thank you.
This is the "making of"... that was the original perspective. I was down next to the train tracks, looking up. The sun threw the shadows of parked bikes and passengers from the road that leads over the tracks, and the background is the front side of the train station.
