Odd thought in number 1. They're getting married and you shoot them in front of a prison. Are you some how suggesting they're about to get a life sentence!? :-):p:confused:

These are simply great shots! A beautiful couple and you have captured them very well. The last shot -- #8 -- is awesome :)

I really enjoyed number one. I thought your lighting was great.. (not sure about the prison aspect though...but I'm sure there is a story there  )

Thanks everyone!
This is one of those brides you dream of shooting, she is so much fun and really challenges you. She will do anything, and I mean anything.
We met at the pub (last shot) and the historic prison which is an art gallery is across the street. They like the idea of shots on the steps with the prison in the background.
Pretty funny is she called me about 2 hours before the shoot and told me John was stressed and would be a bit "stiff", so I suggested we get him drunk! Well we met at the pub and in about 15 minutes they each had about 5 drinks. Needless to say they were a bit more at east.
I'll post a couple more later.....
Yes I was using off camera lighting, in some a "hotshoe softbox" and in some of the others I was using a Lowel Pro ID Light (hot light) ran by a portable battery.

You are going to have to help with the ring shot, I could not get it to work. I really want to add that one to my must shots.
Thanks!
You'll get to help with these since you are shooting the wedding with me, get ready to have fun.

Great job---They are good creative shots. Here is my two cents on each one:
#1--Funny shot---prison.....boy you can have fun with this one!
#2Great shot----background cars a little distracting
#3 & #4 ---not sure I like the angle
#5 Good but if you crop out buildings it might be better
#6-Great Capture---again you might want to crop in closer ---crop out hands--- his sleeve is a little long and the white on her jeans almost looks like bird dropping.
#7--Great shot! only thought is to crop in a little---cropping out the AC unit in upper right.
Keep up the good work!

#2 I darkened the cars and I agree I don't like them but I don't think they distract with the way I have it lit.
#3 & #4 - I was not 100% sold on the angle once I saw it on my screen, more so in #3 than #4. What I do like about the lower angle is it makes the woman look more feminine and connect more with the camera. I'm not a big fan of traditional angles (eye level).
#5 I actually like the building and the architecture. My "style" is journalistic, what we wanted was to capture them "about town" so part of the town is very important, as in #2. The way I shoot these things is capturing them out on a date, not as much posing for shots.
#6, I like the full dip, I will fix the white spots on the jeans I didn't even see it.
#7 I actually think the air conditioner in the upper right helps create the mood of the old downtown area. It keeps it rustic instead of this place looking like a "fake" old place.
Thanks for taking the time to look at each shot, you made some great points.

You have some really nice images here with 5 being my fave closely followed by the hotel and #1. The prison aspect does make you wonder , but i still tihnk it is a great shot.

I like the selective/controlled lighting that highlights their faces, and the mood of #1. Was the control and the temperature of the light from your hotlight?

No, in that shot I used the Lastolite Hotshoe softbox and my 550EX, part of it is also the way I blended the flash and ambient light.
Thanks!
