Hello everyone,

I'm considering the 24-105 for my main lens. In my country, flash is always allowed, and the lights from the videographer are always on!!!

Do you think this lens will be all that I need on a 30D?

Thanks in advance.

Sogog.

no, not on a 30D, 24 will not be wide enough. you should get a 17-55 2.8IS. you could shoot most of a wedding with this lens.

I agree with Josh - for a main lens 24mm isn't really wide enough. For a while I used a 12-24/28-75 combo, but it was a pain because I often had to swap cameras. 17-55 is a great lens and a great lens. Have a backup lens... even if it's the kit lens or a prime, the 17-55 isn't as reliable as an L.

24-105 F4L on a 5D is good.

24-105 wouldn't be wide enough on a 1.6 crop. I occasionally use it on the 1Dn2 (1.3 crop) and it can produce great shots - you just sometimes have to think about the wide end more than with a traditional UWA.
