I purchased the above from BH Photo and was disapointed in the extended eyepiece for the digital rebel. It made the viewfinder alot smaller. I liked the extention part but can't live with the small viewfinder. I am only bringing this up in case anyone was thinking of ordering one, you won't like it. As for the 500d on my canon 100-400, it did a good job but very limited in focus. I was going to keep it but I won a bid on a Canon 100 usm macro with tripod collar on ebay for $482.50.
Does anyone know which lens hood fit the 18-55 kit lens, I couldn't even find any info on the canon website.

The lens hood for the kit lens is EW-60C...ordered one from a camera shop here, and already have one for another lens.

I have been using the extended eyepeice on my D60 for about a year and a half now. And personally I would not have another camera without one, ocasionally yes i overlook the view finder display, but do not find it a hinderance. When i need it, it is right there i just have to look at it instead of what i am trying to take a picture of.

I also have the EP-EX15 .. and I couldn't do without it.
Wearing glasses, I find it helps me see the whole frame (admittedly a little smaller).
Bolling .. I think I have a spare EW-60C lens hood at home .. I'll let you know if you're interested.

Steve
I've looked at home and the hood I have is a EW-60 .. not a C :(
I think this hood is for a 24mm f2.8 lens .. it has the cut-outs for wide angle.
Sorry for the mistake.
