When I download photos from my G2, there is a small ZB thumbnail file. I have been afraid to delete it, but when I have on occasion, I haven't noticed any problem. What is that file? thanks.

It is related to the pixel size of the images in your ZB 'windows'... You can change those sizes.....did you know that ? Anyway, I have often written a ZB folder to a CD...to give it to somebody. I notice I always get the info that xxxx.zb [or whatever] cannot be copied.

Can that file be deleted safely? How do you use it to change pixels? thanks.

In the ZB folder....??? Good Question. In my CD's I always in effect delete them, since the CD Writing program wont write them. Oh... it must be safe, 'cuz whenever I have transferred JPGs that way, I copy the CD to the Desktop, then copy the files directly into the ZB working windows. [That way elminates the need to do the Refresh Library thing...]

I **KNOW** you wont lose your JPGs...

I don't use ZB regulary, but have mucked around with it before. I'm pretty sure that you can delete those files without any problem. The catch: As soon as you browse that folder with ZB, it will be recreated. Basically, this is just a database of thumbnail sized images which ZB uses to quickly display the thumbs that show up while scrolling through the folder's pics. Its quicker for it to work with these thumbs than to rescale the full-sized picture each time. So you should notice that the first time you browse to a folder it may take slightly longer to display all the thumbnails than when you subsequently browse the folder. Until you delete the file, then it will be recreated on the next view.

That's right. I don't know whether those are created when you get the notice to update the data base, or when... This is version 2.4, a little long in the tooth.....but we like the looks and ways of it better than the newer, No-Data Base version.
