I was wondering if there is any action or method available for cleaning up nightime concert photos I took with the G1. I can see a lot of grain in the black of the photos and was wanting an easy way to make them look great! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you have Photoshop:

Fred Miranda has noise-reduction actions here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/CanonG1_G2_pro90/

Also, here is a free color-grain removing action (for PS6 or higher) found on dpreview:

Or, if you are using the PS-LE software that came with the camera, try selecting the black areas and using the despeckle filter.

Good luck!

I have a Canon G1 too, and I've experienced the pain of noisy high-ISO pictures. I created a photoshop plug-in (not just an action) that does a great job of getting rid of noise while keeping detail.

You're welcome to give it a try.

Superb software for cleaning images can be found at www.neatimage.com

NeatImage works really well with G1 images at ISO400.

I would also recommend neatimage .... small freeware program that really does the job outstanding.
