Hey folks,

My wife has been using my 30D to take along to kids thingies and I need to put an end to that. So I pulled the trigger on an S5 (Amazon for 350ish) for her for 2 reasons. 1) it looks like mine (somewhat), and 2) it was in the price range. I did some quick reading on this forum but not as much as I would have liked to.

Did I make the right choice for the price range? Will I be very disappointed in quality, somewhat dissapointed, or will be pleased with the image quality? Also, should I have considered other non-canon brands for her?

The one bummer is that I shoot 100% RAW and will obviously hate losing that. Oh, by the way, I would probably use this camera very often so it is important to me as well.

Thanks in advance,
Frank

Hi!

S5 is a very good camera, the picture quality is perfect, but don't forget that this is just a high end p&s camera not an SLR!
