Hi All,
I’ve lurked for a long time, bought a few things and have tried to sell (and will again) some items. I thought I should finally also include an intro, a little about myself.

I think I have partially hesitated (and largely procrastinated) as most of you are taking such incredible pictures that I feel ‘I’m not worthy’ of such outstanding company. However, I also noticed that this forum is supportive and understanding that we all come from different levels of experience. So I’ll introduce myself. Learn a lot more, buy/sell and contribute where I can.

My name is Mike. I’m currently being spoiled by the California weather in Redondo Beach. I’ve been here about 9 years. I was born in Germany (still speak it some) but mainly grew up in New York (Western tiere) and North Carolina.

I’ve liked taking pictures since I was a teen. My first camera was a Nikon FG. Sadly it was stolen during my early years of college. During my college years I did not take too many pics (mainly school and two/three jobs at a time left little time for fun). After college I had a Pentax Zoom 90WR (I was amazed at all the cool features it had and used the built in remote frequently).

Not until 1996 did I get another SLR, a Canon Elan IIE. I had a blast with this and by 1998 had acquired my first taste of ‘L”, the 70-200 2.8. I’ve since acquired a number of other lenses (some more L and some not, but in any case, more than I need) along with going to digital first with the 20D and now the 30D. Now I need to work on my skills.

So what do I have to show for this? Sadly, that is what I need to work on now. I am so behind on my DAM I’m near gridlock. But I promise I’ll get some pics posted to share or to get feedback on.

So, there you have it…my intro. I look forward to being a part of this forum and am thankful for all of you that make it happen.

Respectfully,
Mike

Hi there and welcome :D

This place is an amazing wealth of knowledge. Read up, post some pics fpr C&C and ask questions and you'll be shooting like a pro in no time (or at least that's what I keep telling myself.... )

Kinnon,
Thanks. Amazing is an understatement. I can’t keep up with all the data in just any one area. Lots of great people, too.
It will be a while before I shoot pro quality, but I will work at it.
Mike
