I like it.

It does not knock me dead.. partly because there is not a lot of "content" in this particular bird's configuration at this time. I do however like its placement close to a golden mean.

The fog adds some mood, but it is lifting.

The waterline should be horizontal.

When it hit my eyes, I knew that it was Long Branch ! I lived there and in Shrewsbury, Red Bank and Rumdun (forget that one) in the early 60's when I worked at Bell Labs! Thanks for the memory!

I like the mood,.

Definately.. rotate the horizon so it is level,. and then I'd crop anohter 1/8th of the image off of the right hand side.. (move the gull a little further right)

Thanks guys. The gradient effect between the water and the sky is what
made me post this is utterly simple image. I didn't even consider the
levelness of the horizon, either. I'll have to take a look at that.

Leighow, I shot this right off of the old Gaskins Beach site, where I spent
many a day and night in the late sixties-early seventies, when the West
End area was a popular hippie gathering place. So many fond memories,
in fact, that was the reason I went there last week to take pictures and
check it out. My-oh-my how things have changed. For the better, I'd say.
There were many swimmers present and lots of activity, a feature quite
notably absent at 70's Gaskins and the reason why us long-haired freaks
liked it so much.
