Saving EXIF ???

I take a JPEG pic. It has full EXIF info. I open it in PSE2 and save it with OR Without any changes and I loose half of the EXIF info.. Any way to prevent this or am I doing something wrong? I would love to enhance the photo and save the EXIF with it if possible......
