Im using a Canon Ixus V2 digicam and Arcsoft's VideoImpression-software.
I tried to record a video but i get always the error that the VFW-driver cannot be found.
VFM = Video For Windows? Right?
I searched for this driver with google, but there's nothing which could solve my prob.
I hope you can help me, thx!

I'm not sure whether it will cure your problems, but try downloading/installing the latest Media Player from Microsoft. This contains a load of different codecs (drivers) which may sort eveything out for you.
Then again, it may not :(. Let us know how you get on.

Firstly, codecs are not drivers. Codecs (COmpression-DECompression) tell how a data (audio/video/etc) stream should be encoded or decoded, whereas drivers tell the software how to connect to hardware.
Since I'm not familiar with Arcsoft's VideoImpression let me try to figure out what you are doing. VideoImpression (VI) is a video editing tool which can connect to DV (digital video) cameras to record clips. Are you trying to use the software to record clips? Or are you recording the clips using the camera, copying them to your computer, and then loading them into VI?

I too had this problem. Everything had been installed per instructions and the camera was plugged in yet when I went to "new" -> "capture", VideoImpressions complained about some mystery VFW Driver.
The solution? Turn the camera on. The driver probably isn't missing at all.

What I suggest is you try to download your images (movie clips & pictures) to your PC through ZoomBrowser. You could watch your movie clip through Media Player 9 & Direct X9.
You could also watch the clips through VideoImpression but I use this tool to edit the clips only.

First of all, excuse my grammar mistakes; I'm spanish. I had the same error with my Hanshing Cam, and I have resolved it.
It is a driver error, showing that the driver for the digital usb camera is incorrectly instaled. I wanted to work with my 2.1 MP camera to act as a webcam-video capturing, but the driver included in the CD (DSC108) wasn't installed correctly in Win2000, so I proceeded to install it manually.
The driver auto-expands in the \program files\common archives\dsc108 directory, so I tried to turn on the camera, select in it to act as a camera and plug in the usb cable. Then, Windows auto-detects a new "USB DIGITAL CAMERA", but it didn't find the driver on the computer, so I pointed to the above location of the driver and accepted the installation of the "Video capture device" and the "dual camera device", and voilá!, the VideoImpression program runs and the camera is installed in the system so other programs could use it to record video, or make videoconferencing at 160x120, 320x240 (real and by defect) and 640x480 interlaced, I suppose.
This problem problably affects other cameras based on the same components, like some Energysistem cameras (Moviecam 6000 or Moviecam 5500).
I Hope I would be helpfull,
goodbye.
