I found a may fly (on 29th of September??) and thought I would try a full set of tubes with my MP-E65 @ 5x. The mayfly was approx 5mm long and was fairly inactive, giving me the chance to test this setup.
What is new to me, is that apart from the big cluster of facet eyes pointing virtually upwards, they also have another cluster of facet eyes below it:

Thanks for looking,

wow, awesome work. was it actually inside the barrel of the lens??? must have been close. I've olny had the MP-E for a few weeks and haven't moved past 2-3x yet.
I'd hate to be buying glasses for that, think of the medical insurance.

Some nice eyes. The brain must have a lot of work to reconstitute an image ;-)
