I have bought a Canon Ixus 430 camera, but when I'm making photos, it becomes hot. The place isnear the battery? Must it be like this? Or are there some orther problems - like battery is failured?

How hot? just warm, or uncomfortably so? It shouldn't get uncomfortably warm under normal operation, but if you're pushing it (a lot of pictures very fast, or a lot of flash pictures at high output and as fast as possible) this may happen. If the terminals are dirty/oxidized, the increased resistance acould also cause excessive heating. Try polishing them (camera and battery if possible) with a soft cloth ort tissue.

Let's say it becomes very warm, when I'm making 20 shots in 2 minutes. Should it be so? :?:

With flash and LCD operating? What happens if you use the optical finder only and don't need flash? Are you using the Canon battery? 6 sec/shot for 20 may be more than Canon expects, but they claim to have built protection against overheating into the battery. If there's a battery problem, you might also see overheating when charging from a mostly-discharged state. Somewhere, they've listed what they consider their conditions for battery-life testing, which will give you an idea of what they consider a reasonable work load, but I'm not able to locate it at the moment.

I have had an an IXUS 400, which is basically the same camera ,for over a year now. That gets very hot too, so don't worry about it, just enjoy it. great camera!

IXUS 400 has a metal body (which is heat conductor) so you feel it become warm very quickly.
