Alright, nothing big that would make most of you EOS guys go "ohhhh" and "ahhhh" but still they are new and I am excited.

A 50mmm f1.8 MKII and Sigma EF-500 DG Super (550EX copy) have just arrived. I am tethered to my computer now but I am going to go out, get some batteries and try these babies out later today. I bought them (used from FM) for paid portrait work, I can't wait to start working on more portraiture now that I have a better flash and lens.

I guess I had better go setup up a sig for myself now, as I have more gear it won't look so barren.

Cheers,

Vince

Good stuff Vince. I just spent a small fortune in the last 2 weeks also. It's a rush and I almost feel like I've been bad, but in a good way.

Now I will never recognize your posts with the new avatar and all. I just got used to the psycho clown!

I feel ok because I can reclaim just about all the moeny I spent on them. I try to buy everything used if I can that way I can minimize my losses. I could probably make a profit on some of them because I got some good deals. Also the flash was more of a need because I am starting to get paid for work and I can't take chances with lighting

Congrats!!!

Let me know more about the Sigma flash. Maybe you can do a review with examples and etc. on a different thread.

Ro1,

I would be happy to do a review on the flash and post samples; however, I am not a pro, in fact I am not even that good and I certainly don't know what I am doing. Could you provide some advice or direct me to some documentation on writing a review on photography equipment? I will look around on the net later on when I am not so crazy, insanely busy.

Vince -

I am not a big fan of really technical reviews. I want more of a personal one.......i.e. How does the flash feel attached to the camera?? How is the build quality?? How easy is it to change setting?? and also.....Do you like the product?? Would you have rather purchased the 550 ex??.....you know... all these stuff.

I really want to see examples of how it perform though....

Give me a few weeks and I will post something like that, however any suggestions on taking pictures that would demonstrate the qualities of the flash? Myabe I will look up some flash reviews and see what kind of test shots they take.

HHmmmm...........I am thinking portraits..............and distant objects - like birds.............maybe the same scene with direct flash and one with bounce.

Anything really would be fine. :-)
