I just bought one of these cards and it is faster than my Sandisk Ultra II 1GB card. But it was giving me an Error 2 on occassion and now all the time. Anyone else have this card for their Digital Rebel? Anyone else have problems with this card? It seems to work fine on my USB Card Reader.

Thanks,

Chris

You reformatted it in the camera recently?

Well, the CF I will be talking about is a 512MG Sandisk Ultra II, but it consistently gave me a "Err 2". I just purchased the dRebel with the CF the other day and it always gave me an Err 2, after about ten or 15 times I finally decided to take both back, I had read that if the CF consistently gave you problems in the manual that it could be the camera itself. Maybe something in your CF reader of the camera has gotten damage, I would try your CF in another such camera to verify that its fine, if it is, then its probably your camera, guy. Or either check your other CF's in your camera. Just what I have found out. It was my camera (brand new out of the box) in my experience.

Chad.

I have had my DRebel for about a year now as well as my Sandisk Ultra II and they both still work fine. I have reformatted and checked the new Lexar 1GB 80X and it is still giving me a problem. I tried it on another camera and it gave an error as well. I am planning on taking it back since they guarantee compatibility.

I was just curious if anyone else had one of these cards and had problems. If so I will get another Sandisk Ultra II.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

Dont waste the money on a speedy CF card for your DRebel, the Rebel can only write to the card at about 16x - 18x speeds. The faster card will be good if you plan on using it for other things to read and write from, but in the DRebel an 80x card is only going to write at about 16x.

The Lexar card is the only CF card (out of about 10) that I have bought that had problems. It had a bad sector in the middle of the 1 gig card and would give me 2 bad images if I went past that spot. Lexar was good about replacing it real fast, but Lexar seems to be the one most people have some kind of problem with. So a Lexar card is the last one on my list to buy, even if the price was better than the other brands. Sandisk is my first brand choice.
