View Full Version : Help: Removing shine from mouth

I took this photo about 2 months ago at my cousins wedding. I was using fill flash. One of the side effects was reflections in the mouth.
I've managed to remove most of them, but there is one in the hidden part of the mouth that I just can't do. If I make it too dark, it looks like the groom has rotten teeth. If I make it too white it stands out too much.
Anyway, I've attached the image, and a 100% crop of the catchlight. If anyone has any suggestions, or if you are feeling especially helpful and want to have a go, feel free. If you do any edits, please tell me how you did it.
Thanks!

I honestly wouldn't worry about it, I couldn't work out the problem from the first image. If you want someone to have a play best post a link to the full quality jpeg. I'd use the clone stamp tool probably.

Thanks
I have tried cloning, but it doesn't look very good.
Maybe I'm over-critical :p

I must admit before you pointed it out it wasn't noticeable even when you pointed it out i don't think the eye is drawn to it. Chances are the couple wouldn't notice it. I agee the clone stamp is probably the best option if you still want it remove.
If you post a higher res file we can have a go at if you like. The attached image is too low res.

It's not very hard guys, even with a low res image lol

Though it looks like he has a hole in his mouth, but I'm sure that's how it would look like without the shine.

I must admit I am looking several times at the image, and leaving aside a small bright spot (which can be perfectly eliminated with just one cloning shot) I see absolutely no brights in your pics.

Thanks.
The problem is what swift1 said - it either looks like he has a hole in his mouth, or has a rotten tooth...
Anyway, I think I'll just keep trying with the clone tool until I'm happy :p

zoom in really far, 500% is good.
then with a 2 or 3 pixel brush burn it set too highlights, then blend it using the blur tool.
Its 30 seconds work and avoids the hole look.
