Hi folks:

Glad to meet you all.

I'm am a long-time Nikon film camera user (I also collect old Soviet photo gear). I had been hoping to same of enough for a Nikon D100 or D70 that could use the lenses from my F100. Then the other day we were over at my daughter's home and I looked at her A80. My other previous digital experience was with a 1.3 megapixel Olympus. That night I got to thinking that the main reason I wanted a good digital camera was for snapshots and If I got the Nikon bode I would be (a) broke and (b) lugging around another big horse, which didn't seem too bright. So I went out and picked up an A80 of my own. Four megapixels will produce great prints up to 8x10 and the A80 lets me chose film and shutter speed and aperture if I'm so inclined. Although the zoom range could be wider, it works from the kinds of stuff I shoot most of the time. I hope to post a shot or two in the gallery.
