Another one from today. Ive never seen so many ladybirds. The were everywhere.

I have never seen a yellow one. We only have red ones here. Lovely shot Alister.

are you complaining about having too many subjects to shoot :D. great shot Allistair. i saw one the other day but it was so windy not sure if i gotten any good shot of it. been out hunting all weekend.

You'll see a lot of them this time of year as they gang up and look for a secure dry place to hibernate en-mass over the winter. In Duluth, Minnesota I watched them chew into 2" diameter hemp ropes - they will bite this time of year as well.
Nice image. Good focus on the eyes and DoF is great.

Brian's explanation as to the colouring sounds pretty good to me.
I haven't seen that many this year. Marvellous how they seem to appear at once. I suspect I'll see hundreds round here soon.
