Thanks to the "Sharper when stopped down" thread at http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38424 , I am now wondering how can I calculate the size of the depth of field. Is it dependent on aperture, lens and distance to subject?
If someone can tell me how to work out the numbers, I'd very much appreciate it!

I have the free DOF calculator on my palm pilot. It's very nice and very free. There is also a Windows version and some charts that you could carry with you. I'm not sure if those are free, but the PalmOS one is definitely free.
