There is no way that us normal mortals can find this out for sure since the filename numbering can be reset. Canon (alegedly) have a bit of software that can do it but they're not sharing that with the rest of us.

I've heard that, too (probably in this forum), but without confirmation from Canon, we can't be sure if that's fact or just urban legend.

I have no doubt it can be done by canon. The only way to do it for us, is just a mask, which are the file numbers.

Anyone up for a Mission Impossible style covert operation at Canon headquarters? hahahah :D Look at csis show up at my door for this.............

Canon service center indicated in their report the number of actuations when i brought in my D60 for cleaning. Im sure a similar feature is also present in the 10D. I guess Canon has a software that extracts the number of actuations recorded by the camera body. I will let you know, my 10D is scheduled for servicing by next week.

Canon can see the nr of shutter actions in the adjustment software.
it's posible with every canon DSLR. 8)

but the software is a well kept secret that no one has exept canon centres.

but if any one has it please give me a copy :wink: :lol:
