This is a thmb to the big one. I shot in jpg+raw and am just showing the unaltered jpgs here. I am living off my laptop at the moment so I don't fuss over colors or exposure TOO much since no matter how good it looks on my screen, it looks very different elsewhere. Thankfully RAW exists. There are a couple specific questions that I have.
1) the bird at the top right and the little bit of bridge at the bottom left (Je pense Petit Pont). I am undecided on the effect on the photo. Since it is "mirrored" I think I like it.
2) the harsh triangular shadow on le Quai de Marche Neuf... does it detract from the image?
I am really appreciate any constructive C&C. TIA

Nice capture, you've found a nice vantage point for this image. I'm not sure what the subject is, building or bridge. Looks like a lot of dead space in the water that could be cropped out to make your intended subject pop out more. I think the bird is distracting as is that little piece of branch pointing out below it. The Shadow makes my eyes want to follow it into the lake. Lastly, a little perspective correction may help as it looks like the building is almost ready to fall over to the left.

here is a new crop removing the street to the right, the bird, and the very edge of the bridge i was standing on.

I'd say everything in the shadow (ie lower half of the shot) should go. I don't see a reason for it to be there, just dead space. You'll end up with a square-ish shot, but there's nothing wrong with that =)

I agree totally with Dan. Moreover, the river as it is leads the eye straight out of the picture instead of into it.

Yes.
And yes to Roy Mather's additional comments.
