Wow, I have the same setup you do except for the flash. I have an Eos Elann IIe as well and just got my dRebel this week. Cool. Congrats.

The DREBEL is a heck of a camera. I just recently converted from that stuff, I think they call it film. The DREBEL was my first. Now I've added a 10D to the arsenal. This forum has proven to be an invaluable asset. If you can't get the answers here, that means there is no answer.

Be warned that they will first want you to buy cards and grips, bags and filters. Then they will show you the L  Then you will spend all of your money on L's!

Welcome! This is a great website!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I think that it is somewhat ironic that you should make your first post on a thread with all the members lauding L lenses. I predict that you will go broke buying lenses faster than the average new member!

Hi and welcome!

I havn't seen a L in person. I was in the local camera store last weekend and that was the first time that they had the Digital Rebel in stock. So I am looking at it thinking how long I would have to go without eating to pay for it  and a L. I then ask if they had any L's in stock. The Nikon guy looked and said sorry, we don't keep L's in stock. :( Then he tried to sell me a Nikon.

oh yes the 310D club, mmm... yummy. You will definitely have to look into the firmware to see if it is your cup of tea.

Speaking of that, when do I get my 310D membership card ctrlz?

hahaha ez fix have photoshop/paint and a printer?
type "Offcial Member of the 310d Club"
and print
it'll get you into any event you want!! :D
maybe we should make it offcial
but then i could see canon asking if us are we members and then voiding our warranties and laughing at us

It's true about the whole L lens thing. I bought a 300D and was just reading the posted threads trying to learn more and suddenly a 17-40 L appeared in my bag. Weird.

Hi and welcome!

I have a 380EX which I use with my 10D. I don't see why it wouldn't also work with the 300D.

It's a good flash which has always been plenty good enough for everything I've done with it. It doesn't swivel but other than that it's fine.

All the best,
/Phil.
