I do believe that it is time to replace the old Agfa scanner. I do not need slide copying or negative scanning, just regular scans of photos and docs. looking more towards quality photo scans, max 8.5 x 11.5 . What are folks using that they are happy with?

i have one of those all in one things, HP pcs 2175...DONT get that...you cant clean the damn underside of the glass, its not sealed...its dusty and practically ruined...unless I feel like ripping the body apart to clean the glass...in which i will probably break it during the process

i had a cano USB powered scanner a while back, scanned negatives too..tiny little thing, awesome...i need to get another one

HP 4670.

It's a little sexy and a great ice-breaker with chicks.

It's an adequate scanner, too.

I used the Epson perfection 1670 photo. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=35836299
It does do negs and slides but is very resonably priced and does a fantastic job.
The London Drugs Photolab out here uses the exact same one.

I've been using an Epson 1200U for about three years. I've never had a problem with it, it does an excellent job, and it's pretty quick. The 1200U has been discontinued, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy whatever Epson has replaced it with.

I've had a Canon Canoscan 9900F for about a year and it has covered every need I've had from negative scans to photocopies. Fast with USB2 and excellent output. The driver gives you a lot of options from dust removal to curves and all work very well. Sort of like RAW processing plus.
