Ok, here is a debate that i have had many times with friends and family. Is breakfast REALLY the most important meal of the day? I find that when i eat breakfast im starving for the rest of the day, but when i dont eat breakfast im less hungry the rest of the day. Do you eat breakfast?

Mostly always.... whether it's cereal, oatmeal, a pop tart or a donut stick.... I do eat something.

When I'm working I do. I start at 6:45 and have my first break around 9:30 - 10, so I have breakfast then.

If I'm at home and get distracted, often I don't. I know I should, but I'm a bit slack like that. Today for instance. I've had a can of Coke, and it's after 12:30pm!

My usual breakfast is (all absolutely organic, of course) 2 eggs, bacon, and an apple/pear. Regular eggs are gross. They have no taste, and smell nasty. Regular meat smells disgusting when it's cooking, too.

by the way i got some stavia after you recommended it. I like it alot, i even like the taste better then pure cane sugar.

It certainly is the most important meal of the day, however we North Americans are not very good at eating breakfast...to our own detriment.

I always eat something. At home it's a bowl of Special K w/sliced bananas and toast or bagel. Sometimes eggs or pancakes if my kids talk me into it. But, since I spend 150 nights a year in hotels, I don't always have a good choice, as I'm at the mercy of what the hotel provides. I dislike getting up early enough to find breakfast in a restaurant.

rarely. i'm not an early riser.. (bartender) and usually not hungry until i've been up for a few hours which is generally around lunchtime.. so, the first meal of the day is skipped over.. The only exception is the 'breakfast dates' out with friends. A couple times a month. and that's only if we don't have the afternoon or evening free..

When I lived out of a suitcase and hotel, I always brought breakfast food with me just in case there wasn't anything available in the hotel.

I don't miss that lifestyle...

No. Lunch is now the most critical. :)

See, times have changed. I work odd hours (this job will kill me sooner or later). Long haul late into the night is par for the course, as is waking up late. Yes, it really does mess with your internal clock. Breakfast is an absolute luxury. Lunch however is mission critical.. that's when real work gets done, that's when real food goes down.

That breakfast thing was probably thought up in an era where people had the luxury of going to bed at 9PM and waking up at normal hours. Times have changed indeed, and not always for the better.

For those who can still enjoy a good breakfast, that's all good, enjoy it: you are the last of a generation :)

For the rest of us, welcome to the 21st century.....messed up and all it is!

I usually eat breakfast. I'm starving by lunch time if I don't eat. I know people that will throw up though if they eat too early. Personally, I can eat just about anything for breakfast and feel great.

I spent 180 nights a year, for more years than I care to count, living out of a suitcase at the local motel/hotel. Finding breakfast was usually a challenge...mainly due to the work day typically ending somewhere around 3 to 4 am...most breakfasts were lunch for the rest of the world...way too many burgers and fries...simply because that is all that was readily available. Traveling for a living is interesting...but there are some big downsides.:(

I've worked nights (midnight to 9:30am) for about 22 years now, but I still have breakfast every day. Around noon. Just before I go to bed...

I found it interesting for the first 6-9 months, then it became not-so-interesting. Same hotel in the 6-8 cities, no wheels to get around, little to no restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, and sometimes a very short overnight. (Less than 10 hours total).

Going to bed hungry because you get in after 11pm and the hotel bar stopped serving food at 11pm and, again, no way wheels to go find an open restaurant...

Traveling for a living is not glamorous despite what many think.

Well, that's ok! The people I hang out with at the lake when I'm in Albuquerque start off with sausages, eggs, toast washed down by Bloddy Marys! Hmmm... I miss those days!

Sometimes I do when I have some stuff laying around. I usually buy 5-6 clif bars or something and leave those at work. I'm eating a clif builders bar right now.

If I don't have "food", then it's always at least coffee.

I always, always eat a breakfast. It may be a traditional one, or as gross as last nights left-over curry or pizza but .............

Took me about 12 months to teach myself to eat breakfast a couple of years ago.. I was getting too hungry and vague by lunchtime but felt sick when I ate that early in the day. Started out on one Weetbix, worked my way up to three and some fruit :p

I never eat breakfast. To me, breakfast isn't the most important meal of the day.

I get up early, work out/run for an hour (5 days a week, baby!) and go to work. I eat a healthy lunch. I don't drink anything with caffeine in it, usually just water all day every day. I get home after a 12-14 hour day and eat a small dinner.

That has been my routine for years and I have no health problems to speak of. I don't smoke either.

Don't believe the hype, you can live without breakfast! ;)

That works for you but not others. If I don't eat three meals a day, I'll get sicker than a dog with nasty headaches.

It's easier to eat than suffer through the pain. ;)

I rarely eat breakfast myself. I fix it for my wife, but food just doesn't interest me that early.

Where we're traveling, that's different. I love a big breakfast when we're on the road. I really haven't figured out why.

Given the color of your current avatar, I would be tempted to say that breakfast starts when the sun sets! And your quest for the juice of life ends with the sunrise
