Thought I'd try a little High School Softball. Shot yesterday around 5:00 pm. Av priority, ISO 100, 70-200mm, f/2.8.

All taken through the fence.

Please let me know what you think.

#3 would be the best action shot if we can see her face...

Nice pics! Excellent framing, good colors, perfect exposures and very sharp especially for shooting throught the fence. #1's my favorite - both feet off the ground too!

Very nice - I like the first two. Next time think about shooting the pitcher from the third base side and getting her in the full windup

Appreciate the feedback. The athletes never move the way I want them to.

She dominated the game. This game was over in three innings. one team couldn't get on base, the other team scored at leat 10 runs per inning.

I will try that next time. Thanks for looking!

Very nice shots taken through the fence. My shots always seem to show the light gray lines of the fence. What was your technique? Should I have the lens right up aginst the fence, hood off/on? Thanks

I can't speak for what Cory did, but I've had good luck by opening the lens as far as it goes, and yes, I place the lens against the fence (without the lens hood), being careful not to scratch the front element, of course, and being aware to pull the lens back should a foul ball come my way.

And, BTW, Cory - very nice job.

#1 and #2 Awesome capture of the expression, I'm big on that. #1 the better of those 2 for me.

#3 Nice action capture! It's all happening.

#4 Doesnt do a lot for me but it's only due to the angle, the timing is good

For your first go, these are super!

Great shots! In our area she would be pitching illegal. Your back foot is supposed to remain in contact with the ground. Very sharp images.
