Mine is just my first and last name photography... I find it simple and if there is only one of you like there is me... Braden is a pretty unusual name, at least around here... Then it may be easier for someone to look you up.

Braden Jones Photography sounds much better than 1000 Words Photography.

The more unusual name the better. Yervant or Bambi aren't usual names either.

.......

Agreed----I like Braden Jones Photography.

By the way Braden---I went to Marion College----yes before they changed the name and know your area well. Great town. I also love Indy. Great people in Indiana!

I like Braden Jones... Braden's pretty unusual for anyone over 10 (and I mean that in a good way.. it's only become popular recently, so your mom was ahead of the times). And I think 10 weddings in your first year is pretty good, by the way. Good luck with the move!

Can you share as to the context of 1000 Words Photography? To me it's more in line with a high-school paper writing service. :) Braden Jones Photography sounds much nicer. Or you can just do Jones or Braden Photography. It's a nice name!

Funny someone would mention the 10-year-old thing. I was also thinking, I don't know any adults by that name... so for a photog it's most likely not very common.

And when I first read your name I liked it... Braden Jones Photography does sound good to me. One Thousand Words? Not so much, in my opinion.

I went with SBC Photo, and the only reason I don't use my last name is because of my father. In the area where I live, my father - whom I've disowned - is unfortunately known by too many people (and not in a good way) for me to associate myself professionally with his last name.

I see nothing wrong with Branden Jones Photography. I decided to call my business sagephotoworld. Why? Because I already had a functioning business called sageworld. Thus I couldn't use sageworld without conflicting so I made it sagephotoworld. Simple choice really.

What about The Wedding Photo Guy"

I see nothing wrong with Branden Jones Photography. Me, either. It leaves room for expansion to other areas than weddings, is easy to remember, & I'm guessing that you don't expect to get many visitors that you don't give the url to?
Otherwise, you can try to improve the search engine rankings with the site content & meta tags.

Hey, you could also have a motto! Something like "Everyone likes to get a Jones for their photos!" ;p Hmm...I may be the only one to find this funny though... (BTW, I mean absolutely no disrespect to your name.)

As for the name itselft, I think that Braden Jones Photography has a real professional sound to it. 1000 Words Photography just doesn't seem to have that professional sounding kick to it. ;)

Best of luck in your career!!!

You suck like many others. Your name has a nice ring to it unlike mine. Nathan Carroll or just Nathan...besides, I'm sure most would think hot dogs aniwho. So I had to come up with a creative name. Luckily it appears on no search engines and I own the .com and .net domain name.

But stick with your name.

One thing to keep in mind with business name is that if you use your own name as part of it, then its very hard to grow from there, since business is tied to your name and reputation.
If your company name doesn't have any direct association to your name, then you can easily recruit more people to join in, if business starts to get bigger and it also makes it easier for you to sell your company, if you want to start doing something else than photography.

Maybe everybody thinks their name sucks. I like yours. Mine is just compeltely unsuitable and unfortunately not easily spellable... I had to come up with a creative name, too... I did my best anyway.

Amanda, while common, is a nicer name. Maybe just First name ain't so bad. Nathan Carroll doesn't roll off the tongue nicely. I tried my Chilean name, but I think it's too complicated for some. I still might change it. Ah, but what's in a name, that a rose by any other would smell as sweet?

Idk...

The Amanda part is good, it's my last name that doesn't roll off the tongue and has too many different spelling variations in the area where I live. To have it as a domain name would have been a curse because 9 times out of 10 locals spell it wrong. I like Nathan Carroll. Maybe weird, but it sounds really honest to me.

Something about Nathan seems young and Carroll old. lol Now, maybe a law firm. Nathan Carroll, we're here for you.

Which was my original career path.

People are more apt to remember an unusual name.

I think Braden is a good name, very artistic sounding. I would only change it if it was something weird like Starchild Jones or Kronk Jones.
