I'm spending a day falconry(ing ?) on Friday. Wondered if anyone has done this and if they have any tips for best results.
I have a G3 and the telephoto adapter. I am wondering, as the birds will be sitting on my hand, whether I should use the telephoto? My initial thought is not to - but would appreciate some suggestions.

If the birds are sitting on your hand, you're going to be hard-pressed to use the camera, with or without the tele adapter. When they're in flight, you're going to need it though.

Hmm, don't know the G3 or how much zoom You would get with the telephoto lens but how long are Your arms?
If You are going to hold the Falcon You probably won't need zoom. But then again I have shot a Harris Hawk from 1,2meter with a 70-200 mm zoom to get the background nicely blurred but with one hand that would probably be difficult to do.
Maybe You should have a helper take the photos for You?

That would perhaps be better for the G3 once the falcon starts hacking at the cam...

Thanks for the tips.
I can shoot the G3 very easily with one hand - takes a bit of practice is all!
I'll experiment and let you see the results!
