This is a great program. My only problem is that when you click on a thumbnail, it takes forever for the picture to load up. My pictures are under a meg, and have only 10 thumbnails displaying at a time per exhibition. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, add more photos!
And add more photographers, lenses, camera's etc in settings. There is a post somewhere in this forum that describe this (I'll see if I can locate the link). It has to do with the way MySQL indexes and it is most efficient if there are more than 7-8 records in the tables.

If thumbnails and images load slowly the that is AFTER EE has done its business of building the page, i.e EE does not affect that: http server does. In that case seek for the reason in web server settings, cabling or filesystem speed.
For speed tracking enable statistics in EE editor and see which are PHP, MYSQL or Imagecheck is the pitfall.

Is it possible that you can check my settings?
I have tried view the website on several different pcs and still experience slowness. Both thumbnails and normal size pictures take forever to load.
Thank you very much.

its not your settings if the site you are speaking of is the one in your profile... the old v1.22 version of EE has undergone a lot of changes... Pekka spent a lot of time working on the speed of the system... there are a lot of additional changes and features other than just the speed enhancements...
follow the steps to upgrade to EE v1.5 RC 4 and you'll be much happier... the link and info should all be in the topmost stickied message in this area... most any of the problems and quirks found have been discussed in these messages... make sure you read back thru them if you suspect you've found something... otherwise, just ask and we'll see what we can do to assist...
oh yes, i'd install the new stuff into a new folder and build from there... there are conversion scripts to update from the old v1.22 database to the new format... the real work will depend on how you laid your structure out for the storage of your photos ;)
