It just dawned on me that most photographers are male. I have met a lot of photographers lately as I am shooting a lot of bodybuilding shows, but have yet to met a female photographer.
Am I the only girl on this forum too?
Told ya it was a stupid question.

It's not a stupid question. We have a lot of women in the forum. I could name a lot of them, but it would be better if they did it themselves.

It appears to be a slight overdose of hormones, common in younger men. ;)

Oh yeah, and you're not the only girl posting here - I've seen quite few in these parts.

I'm not a photographer, but i'm female and I love taking photos. The only other one's I have noticed in this forum are Marie, KartGirlsMom, Jemmind and Kosmos (I think I have the names correct). I wonder why there are so many males in the profession? There's more male chefs as well, isn't there, which is strange because a woman was traditionally the one at home cooking. There's nothing stopping a woman in becoming a pro photographer, if she wanted to. Could be that we just keep it as a hobby instead of making a job of it.

Just don't. It didn't deserve the reply it got.
Anyway, there have been many many women here over the past couple years. The majority might be men but I hope that and the past comment doesn't scare you away.
Here is another forum that I just recently joined that seems to be a majority of women. Check it out. http://ilp.tlcwe.com/forums/index.php?s=3b49684c7f0b7a6be2b054e3d107e7ce.
The main focus seems like it used to be B&W child photography but they've since expanded to all kinds of portraiture.
