Wow! I really like these, favourites, 1,3,5 and 6.
Most fav, 5, I'm a sucker for little girls and you have captured the essence of a daughter and her mother in this one.
6 is the one that I like the best for the theme. The contented look on the face, the soft lighting and the clear focus of the face combine for great impact.

Very beautiful, they really capture the joy and spirit of being a mother to be....Not that I have ever been, but wonderful shots just the same!

These are great portraits absolutley fantastic.
I noticed your equipment is the rebel and kit lens, is that what you used to take these shots and do you have a home studio?
also is there a possiblitly of sharing your studio setup. Particularly the dark background shots, they are my fav's
Sorry for so many questions but I think these shots a great and gives me great confidence in my Cannon 300D(rebel) if I could produce just one photo of that calibre I would be very very happy.

yes i used the rebel and kit lense thats all i have i did buy a canon 75-300mm USM i cant afford an L lense for some time so it will have to do for a while. but that was ordered just this wekk its not arrived yet.
the shots on black well all my shots were done with 3 flood lights i cant afford to buy any strobes. i have a flood light on iether side of the camera to cast nice shadows on subject but they are far enough to the side that any shadow behind the subjects is falling off to the side not on the back of the backdrop and the lights are a bit higher than the subject too. i have only had my camera 2 months so i am still very much learning its actually the first professional quality camera i ahve ever owned.
the third light is attched to the center of the backdrop stand and is above the subject quite a bit on white backgrounds i point it strait down to illuminate the background best but on black and browns i point it at the top of their head to add light there so they dont blend into the background.
i got my lights for about 70 bucks a piece on ebay they came with stands and bulbs and umbrellas ( i only use the umbrellas on white and only for certtain looks.)
i ordered the longer lense so i can try some portraits outdoors.
I love photos i used to spend rediculaous money having my boys photographed.
and i have found the kit lense can take some very good studio portraits!
but its not long enough to get any decent bokah outdoors.
the new lense i bought i have been told will blurr if i use it too ling length with no tripod but i will see IS may not be as big of a factor i have very very steady hands i have gotten fabulous photos of a dog running using iso 800 and 1/1000 shutter handheld i have extremely steady hands. used to paint mostly watercolor i think that and playing the clarinet in a martching band for years has helped to strengthen my wrists so i never have a probelm with camera shake.
i am so glad you think they are good it is my first maternity shoot ever but only my s3cond shoot ever of any type( other than my own boys)

Excellent pics. They all have a very nice style. You shouldn't have any problem attracting a lot more customers. Great stuff can be produced on a budget. Congrats....

Can you give more info on your lights? Were they used or new? What type, bulbs, power, etc.?

the lights were all new i got them on ebay new stil in box

then i also bought the backlight i am useing at B&H
it was like 25 bucks cause i did not get a stand since it came with a clamp and i clamp it to the backdrop support stand.
i will try to find a link to the lights i bought on ebay but at this moment ebay is being a B&#%H to get on. I dont know whay its giving me fits.
i was hesitant to show this one otehr photo at first thinking some might be offended but i will share it i saw noone get offended at a totally nude pic i saw on the forum and she is technically covered here..
