Nice catch JM. We called them something a little different when I lived in Florida. Something descriptive of their habit of following the cows around and eating warm seeds from fresh cow pies. :mrgreen:

Looked at the guides several times and couldn't be sure if it was a cattle egret or a snowy egret. Unless the cows were amphibious, these were feeding on fish. Here's a full body shot.

That's a snowy. Cattle egrets are much different. Very nice shot, too.

Very nice portrait of the Snowy Egret; that 2nd shot shows those "golden slippers" very nicely!:)

These birds were on the gulf pier at Ft. DeSoto. They ignored my presence, letting me get within 5 ft of them. Should have got more shots, but I was distracted by the feeding pelicans. I do wish the background would have be more natural.
