Well, it's stoped raining in Florida, and I found my Osprey in some morning light.
First Pose......

Then it flew away (my first BIF)

Ira, Do you have Noise Reduction software? Both the first and second could be greatly improved if NR was run. These are good captures but could be much better with PP.
No I don't.... But I can see from your example the benifits. I do have GIMP 2, but I don't think it has Noise Reduction funtions.

Classic pose with first shot Ira and good job with the in flight shot as well. As Gary suggests, removing some noise would be helpful.

Ahhh...my favorite subjects! Well done! The noise was a problem, especially in #2. Although I don't routinely use NR programs, I will surely use it to save a shot.
Look at the talons on him! Amazing...great close up!

Ok, what NR program is suggested. I do have GIMP 2, but I don't think it has Noise Reduction funtions, but oddly it does have noise filters which appear to add noise!!
Are the NR programs a addon for photoshop?

I use picture cooler 2. I think the favorites are neat image and noise ninja.

This one was done with a free version of "Neat Image"

Nice shots IRA.
I just downloaded Neat Image that Gary mentioned and tried it on one of my noisier shots. I just did a quick crude setting and it did a pretty nice job. With a little fiddling I'm sure it can really save a noisy pic. Thanks Gary

That's what the forum is for Ira
There are settings you can play with, for example you can remove noise and sharpen at the same time.

I want to thank you all for the help and suggestions with the noise in this image.
I went back to my original image and found no noise in it. I must admit that the noise was introduced by me through my sloppy PP.
I have downloaded several noise reducing software programs, and after trying them out I have concluded the one for me is “Neat Image”.
