I've been playing with my Intervalometer and have been taking some time lapse sequences while driving. I used a Gorillapod to secure the camera to my passenger seat headrest. It did a good job but the cushioned headrest gave a little bit during the ride. Will also need to clean my windows next time! Below is a single frame and here is the video:

very cool. and i love the fact that your not just driving around, but instead you go thru a drivethru and order wendys. id love to get a fisheye, but i just dont think itd do me any good on my xti. nice time lapse tho.

Very cool perspective. I think this would look better on a dark country road without glare etc...would love to see more of this.

Thanks everyone for the feedback - Poorart, the Fisheye would work quite well on your XTi - it wouldn't be a complete circle because of the cropped sensor. That was taken on my 20D with the same crop factor.
p33 - I'm taking it you have been exposed to Wendy's then? Too bad my grilled chicken that night was stringy. Bleh!
Anthony, great idea but I still want some sort of light trails. Maybe enlist a few friends to stand at each side of a dark road with flashlights or something similar.

Awesome comp and dof. The fisheye distortion actualy works in your favor. Also, great low light exposure. Nicely done, John. --Rick

Cute little red headed, pig-tailed girls not allowed over there? How horrible!
McDonalds is worldwide, I would think Burger King and Wendy's would be as well. Not sure if Burger King is already or not.

John,
Did you use a remote shutter or did you have a friend in the back seat clicking the shutter every few seconds?

Tom, I used the TC-80N Intervalometer though while I was at the drive thru I turned off the countdown and triggered the shutter manually, you might be able to see my hand behind the seat. Wendy's took darned long to fill my order and since I was on a 1 shot every ten second interval, I didn't want half the movie of me waiting for my food.

Scott, I used the Peleng 8mm fish - about $250-300 shipped. Its great for fun but if you are really interested in salable images you may wish to look elsewhere. It has wicked flare problems, the UV coating is usually very uneven. Try to find a buddy and borrow theirs for a weekend.
I also have (after much struggle) the EF-S 10-22mm. I really didn't want a lens that was only able to be used on EF-S designs but I'm glad I did. It has darned near the width of the Peleng and if I really wanted to I guess I could warp it with Panotools in Photoshop to make some faux fisheye distortion. This lens is really beautiful and I think it deserves a red ring - all for $700.
