An HDR shot at the SF Cemetery...would love to hear your thoughts

If i were to process it again, i would try to minimize the halo's but i do think they add the creepiness of the shot. (note: i wasnt exactly sure where to post this one.)

I think it's nice but, I'm not too crazy about the halos in the trees.

I'd say you went a little too nuts with the HDR. I doubt this scene is contrasty enough to need much, if any.

btw, I live a quarter of a mile from that spot.

I didn't notice the halos before it was mentioned. But now that I know about it it's distracting.

totally agree, but what do you think about the basic composition? Its has always seemed strangely balanced to me....

I'm not caring much for it. Composition is okay but, what in the world is all that black squiggle markings in the lower right over/on the gravestones that is totally distracting to me.

Very interesting shot. Fabulous composition!! Too much PP in my (sometimes humble) opinion.

KENYC- its called a tree.

I looks more like leaves and limb now that I look again, but in any case it's not helping the shot, looks like graffiti or writing on the image. Not sure if that due to the processing or not but I'm guessing it is related.

How about posting the original for comparison purposes?

I really like the "repeated pattern" of the grave markers and the tree on the left kind of frames things little. Also like the darkness, but maybe it's a little too dark to be believable (in other words maybe the PP was overdone, IMHO)? I would also like the two bits of trees on the right side of the frame to be gone...kind of draws your eyes away from the slop and the graves that make the shot really good. But I really like that shot overall! --joe

I think the image is fantastic despite the comments... Great work. The halo effect around the tree's is a typical HDR effect.

I forgot what setting its called but its about balancing the highlights. Top photo :)

I like the comp, don't care at all for the processing. As mentioned, the bright halo-like areas around the trees are distracting.

Also...you -really- need to clean your sensor or at least take the time to clean it up in post.
