I need a wide angle lens that isnt super expensive but takes good/great concert photos.
I'll be right in front or on the stage.
Any help would be amazing.

Sigma 12-24mm for really, REALLY wide.
Canon 15mm fisheye for a cool wide-fish effect. Sigma 15mm fisheye for the same effect but less money.

from shooting from the front all the time, you don't need to go that wide. Except for pictures of the whole band..
A Sigma 30 1.4 should be perfect
I find my 50 to be a bit too close

Under $600 for a full frame? Hmmm.
Either of the 15mm fisheyes from Canon or Sigma is really wide and fast at f2.8. Of the two Sigma has more aperture blades and a closer MFD for more magnification.
Tamron and Sigma both make a 17-35 f2.8-4.5. Tamron is cheaper with more distoriton at 17mm end IIRC. The Sigma seems to have very little distortion at the 17mm end and has a HSM AF motor as well.
Sigma also makes a 15-30 f3.5-5.6 or 5. I'm not sure if it's under the price limit though.
Some just above the price limit are sigma 12-24, which is somewhat soft and slow and Canon 17-40L, which is nicely built.
If you like primes, Canon and Sigma both make 28mm f1.8, sigma makes a 24mm f1.8 and a 20mm f1.8.

How dark are these concerts going to be, I'd look at the 28 f/1.8, which will be plenty wide on a 5D or the uber expensive 16-35 f/2.8 but even that might not be fast enough..

30mm won't do full frame...
I'ld get either an EF35/2.0, EF28/1.8 or Sigma 20/1.8, depending on how wide you want to go.

I have an XTi and a Sigma 20mm/f1.8 that I used to photograph an OK Go show last April. It worked out great for me, I had permission to shoot from the very front of the stage, and the effective focal length on my camera was just about perfect for most of the shots I took. For the 5d, you might want a slightly longer lens, I'd say about 30-35mm. Or you can just go with the 20mm and crop all of your photos a little bit.

I shoot drama productions wide with the 5D/ 17-40 combo.
No flash
Bump the ISO
Works fine.

I would say the 16-35 2.8 the 17-40 isnt fast enough!

Personally, I'd go with a fast prime like a 24mm f1.8 or something along those lines.
I agree, usually don't find f2.8 zooms fast enough.

The 35 f1.4L is the best lens i ever played with and is great for lowlight.

Anything below a 50mm on ff is considered a wide angle lens

Sure it is, but not very wide.
More to the point, I think the OP will be pretty hard pressed to find a 35 f/1.4 for under the stated $600 budget.
I personally think the 28 1.8 would be the best budget approach for the OP. Any UWA in the price range will be slow or otherwise compromised.

Do you need wide or ultra-wide? The Sigma 24-70 is wide and gives your some versatility.
If you're shooting in a small club a fast prime is probably best though. 28 1.8 would be a good option. I used it on the 30D for awhile and found it to be a solid low light lens.

You can rent a 24-70. That should be sufficient. If you want to go really really wide, 10-22 is your friend, or the Sigma alternatives that were already mentioned.

I use a Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye... Wide as hell and the fisheye adds a cool effect.
