I just found your software and I've been looking for something like this for years.

Where do I need to start? Do I install an older version and then do the upgrades or do I start with 2.02? :confused:

Yes, I'm afraid it's step by step: first full install 1.5RC4 from http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29266 (no need to configure in any way) and then 2.0 upgrade http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=223149 and 2.02 from http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=250579

Seems much more complicated than it needs to be but by the raves that I've read so far, it might just be worth the extra work.

Ver 1.5 seems to have installed correctly but now, when trying to access gallery/input/, I only get this...

Exhibit Engine MySQL error!
ERROR FROM QUERY exhib_ids in page 'get_first_exhibition':

User 'XXXXXXXX_ee' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 50000)
------------------------------

What did I do??? :confused::confused:

I don't know how but that last problem went away.

Now I've upgraded to 2.0 and when I load basecode/SETUP_settings.php I just get a blank page. ???
If I add echo "Hello"; the page will show hello so something is working.

Do I need to resolve this or can I just go on to 2.2?

i am no expert but i would say start from scratch and make sure that your hosting company meets all the requirements that ee needs.

it is really not that hard to install, i have done it several times.

Also ensure that you put all the settings in the setup_setting.php correct.

By the way, loading the page SETUP_settings.php results in a blank page as it should...
You have to go to your admin dir, there you see pages loading (also your homepage itself should do so)

Your server admin has set resource usage limiters in mysql. Bad idea.
