I know this has been discussed on here in the past, but I wanted to send out a question or two before hitting the purchase button.

I use the 300D Rebel and want to start using studio lights and such. Is the Wein SSPC Safe-Sync - Inline PC to PC Sync Voltage Regulator with Coiled Cord (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=273330&is=REG) the item I need to buy. If so, what is everyone's experience with it. And is there anything else I need to buy to make it work with studio kits?

Will this device allow me to use just about any studio light and flash connected to the camera? How many lights/flashes will I be able to use at a time with this device?

Thanks for your help in this.

The wein safe sync would be plugged in to a light/flash as it sits in the hot shoe of your Rebel. The other flashes should flash off the main, providing they are capable with sensors. If you are using Alien Bee lighting then the Wein is not necessary as the output of the Bees is 5.6v. The Rebel can only handle 6 and under. You would then be able to use a more inexpensive hot shoe adapter for $14.00. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=89979&is=REG
Alien Bees come with a 12' cord.

Thanks a lot Conk. I don't have the Alien Bee's kits...well actually I don't have anything at the moment.

Thanks for the info.

I just started using the Wein & enjoy it much more than the 10D socket. I've always used it for film & it's not really needed on the 10D but it lets me be more flexable. I use it with White-lightnings and Alien Bees. I feel its a good purchase.
