I wonder if anyone can help? When I want to put a stroke around a selection (or a complete photo), on opening the stroke command, the default colour is always red. 90% of the time, I use a white stroke, so I have to change it every time. Is there any way I can set the default colour to white?

You cant change the default , a workaround is make your selection and set your foreground color to what you want and then right click selection and select stroke the foreground color will be the stroke color .

Thanks Rod - your way is a quick and easy way to do it. It's a pity, though, that you can't change the default colour in the first place - I wonder why Adobe chose red?

Was your foreground the color red? I think that's why it showed as red all the time...

No - my foreground colour was white (sometimes black) but the default colour using the stroke function is always red.

Odd, have you worked with the stroke function before?

Yes, many times - and the default is always red. Perhaps I should clarify a little. When I put a stroke around something, I don't use the Edit - Stroke route. I use the layer style route which opens a dialogue box, and it is in this box that the default colour is always red.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this comment/question:rolleyes:

Ooh, if you use Edit > Stroke then red is not default, your foreground is default.

Yes, I realise that but, as I said earlier, I use the Layer Style method - and it's here that the default colour is red.
