S30 Movie Sound Noisy

I just purchased the S30 last weekend and am having a lot of fun with it. I did have one question or concern in regard to recording in movie mode. When playing back recorded movie, the sound has a lot of background hissing. I ran several cases under different conditions
including making absolutely no noise and playback still produces background hissing. Is this normal as it is not a video camera or should I have it checked out. Any Thoughts?

My experience has been that when I play back the sound through the camera, the sound is not so good (what can you really expect out of a tiny speaker?). However, when I play back through my computer, I have been surprised at the good quality of the sound, with no detectable background. What have you been using for the playback? Also, recognize that this is not a hi-fi recorder. But you should expect reasonable fidelity with no detectable background noise via your computer palyback.

So far i have tried five S30's and they all do this.
My cousin's does as well.
Also, every review i have seen where they post sample images/movie, have the same 'noise' (crackling).

It's only noticeable when totally silent in room. When people are talking on the movie, the noise isnt really noticable. THe signal-to-noise ration must be quite low, but that is to be expected with the mic included.

If you are recording in a noisy area, the crackling isnt as noticeable, but it tends to sound like white noise that fades in and out.
