The last one only has the vigenette effect.

Did I hit or miss??

i really like the 2nd and last one a lot...personally, i think if you work on his expression a little, they would be just about perfect

IMO the first and second images are very strong images.

3&4 come close but... in the third one the cropping of the curve of his back seems to spoil the composition.

Well done - you scored a hit, they are good images

The fourth one is great. The second one would be good too if there was more separation between the subject and the background. It just kind of seems a little dull on the lighting. The first and third one would be great too if you slipped a reflector facing up at his face below the frame. That would softer the shadow on his chest a bit.

All in all good pics. But the second on in from of the porta-potty seemed like an odd setting.

The second one is very good, I would clone out the doorway of the blue wall behind him, It looks like he is standing in front of a porta potty door to me, maybe if you clone out he lines from the door it wouldnt look like that. I really like the shot otherwise.

With the exception of the top one, the rest seem to be rather soft-focused.

Thanks blinking!! Last time, I realized that we took mostly serious pics. We actually incorporated the smirk and smile on this shoot. I realize that he looks to wholesome when he does a wide grin smile - so there is some that I did not include.............

Please suggest more expressions.

David.........good eye!!! I didn't notice that. I took a lot of shots so I will pick a different one with the same pose without the cropped back.

Thanks!!

I will look into buying a refelctor.............but with that, I will have to have an assistant............which probably will not happen anytime soon. I did use an external flash to eliminate some shadows.

Okay.........you got me on the porta-potty!!! I didn't think anybody would recognize!!! I actually really liked the blue background against his dark skin.............Oh shucks..........I didn't know it was that obvious.

Thanks!!

I think you made his head a tad larger from the first shoot.

I think I'll blame this one on pbase compression............it somehow mulches my pixels.............they are actually pretty sharp full size...I think.

The picture is still stunning, I dont mean to say that it isnt a great photo.

It's just the first thing that jumpd out to me when I saw it, I would like to see the finished picture if you clone out the door.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that the porta potty picture (lol that sounded funny) wasn't good. But I do think the cloned out version is nice. Even a bit better than the original.

As for the reflector, you don't have to buy a big expensive reflector. I don't know what your finances are like, but I have to save a dime wherever I can. A 2'x3' whote foamcore board would do a great job as a reflector. And if you are looking to get that color cast that you get from those expensive disk reflectors you can pin some gold or silver lamae (so mispelled) fabric over the board. You can get enough fabric to easily cover that board for a buck or two.

And instead of an assistant (I don't have one either) you can get a reflector holder (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=124747&is=REG) . But you know you could most likely go to home depot and rig something up with a couple of clamps and some PVC pipe.

Keep up the good work.

Much better, now only I will know it's a porta potty he's standing in front of.. LOL.

Seriously, the background looks really good now, it's a little darker in some areas than others, but it definately doesnt look like a porta potty now.

Thanks for the suggestion DProphet. I will look into a reflector......maybe a home-made one as you have suggested ;-)

how much saturation did you drop in those pics? I like that effect.

Jojo......these effects are actually acheived through this nifty little program called Photo Impact 8. It is under (Style - Fade 6). It is a little cluncky compared to photoshop, but it has some wonderful drop-in effects that instantly changes the mood of your photos.

Hope this help.

Great shots, and as mentioned previously, very professional looking.

I have just one constructive critique... something I spot easily since Radtech pointed out a similar thing in one of my own shots ( )

On the last picture the graffitti seems to be growing out of the guys head.
Sorry but I had to say it. After all - this is the critique corner

I'd just keep an eye on such things in future and try to avoid them if possible
